What is the art-pack?

The art-pack is a booklet that has all the information you will need to participate in this interactive art project, including a series of creative tasks, maps and information on GPS.

What else will I need?

A GPS receiver or OS explorer map will be essential for completing the creative tasks.

You can borrow a GPS receiver from one of the collection points. Call the appropriate collection point, stating your name and date you would like to borrow the GPS (A £60 deposit will be required)

Alternatively you can use an OS Explorer map (no’s 116,128, 129, 140) to complete the tasks.

Guides to map reading will be available at the collection points.

A pencil will be provided but feel free to bring your own pens or pencils if you prefer.

Where are the Collection Points?

If you have access to a GPS receiver and require an art-pack you can order one by post from Somerset Art Week on 01460 259 324

When will I see my work on-line?

Your work will be activated within 3 weeks of returning the art-pack. Not all the work submitted will be able to be shown but we will endeavour to show at least one creative response from each person or group involved.

If you would like your art-pack returned please enclose an SAE.

Planning your visit

Be Prepared – please remember that footpaths can be muddy and stony and good weather isn’t guaranteed. We recommend you wear suitable footwear and take adequate waterproof clothing or sunscreen/hat as appropriate.

Public access is only along public footpaths and a few clearly marked permissive paths. Please stick to footpaths when taking part in this project. Ham Hill Country Park is the only area of the Trail with open access.

The Trail crosses private land and you should respect the Countryside Code at all times. Please remember to keep your dog under close control especially around stock. For further information about the Countryside Code look at http://www.countrysideaccess.gov.uk/countryside_code/
